Naya Pakistan Housing Program to Be Extended to Merged Tribes
Peshawar: According to media sources, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has proposed a new low-cost housing programme for disadvantaged tribesmen under the Naya Pakistan Housing Program (NPHP).

According to Dr. Amjad Ali, provincial minister for housing, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has urged the Deputy Commissioners of each of the seven tribal districts in the combined territories to assist in finding state-owned land for the housing project.
He stated that the 10,000 Kanal Jalozai Housing Project in Nowshera is 95% finished while providing information about other housing developments. Through a fortunate draw, the Provincial Housing Authority began the application procedure for the distribution of residential plots in Phase-III.
2,400 affordable apartments are a new Jalozai housing project under the NPHP that has begun. The apartments will get a PKR 0.3 million subsidy and are intended for laborers, the homeless, and others in less fortunate circumstances. Beneficiaries will pay the remaining sum in convenient installments.
The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) and the KP government have also inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to offer low-interest housing financing. In addition, the government has requested that 12 more banks offer comparable services.

A second low-cost housing project will also be built in Surizai, Peshawar, on a 10,000 Kanal plot of land. The minister said that building on Hangu Township will start the following month.
