NDMA Asked to Increased Residential Plots in New Balakot City
According to published reports, Ahmad Hussain Shah, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister, has recommended that the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Chairman Lieutenant General Akhtar Nawaz increase the number of plots in the New Balakot City housing project.
During his delegation’s visit to Balakot, the Special Assistant to the PM, Ahmad Hussain Shah, met with the NDMA chairman. During the discussion, the special assistant also asked that survivors of the 2005 disaster receive plots as soon as possible.
In addition, the CM’s aide indicated that the affected parties desire an expedited allocation of plots in the New Balakot City Housing Project. He went on to explain that the survivors want the 11,000 kanals of land to be developed again.

The Special Assistant to the CM Shah announced to the media that the NDMA chairman will meet with the CM next week to discuss the expedited completion of the project. In addition, the chairman will meet with stakeholders and local legislators to obtain their support for resuming work.
