NEPRA Approves Supply of Additional 150 Megawatts to K-Electric
A tripartite power purchase agreement (TPPA) between K-Electric, National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC), and Central Power Purchase Agency (CPPA) for 150MW more power supply to Karachi from the national grid has been approved by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).
The additional 150MW of power supply to Karachi had already received cabinet approval from the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC). The ECC “decided that this arrangement is completely separate and would have no relationship at all to the existing agreement for the supply of 650MW by NTDC to KE”
According to the TPPA, KE will receive 50MW of power per wind power plant from Tenaga, Zephyr, and Hydro China Dawood via the national grid.
