Islamabad: The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) has launched development work in Sectors F-14 and F-15, aiming to introduce a modern housing model centered on environmental sustainability, landscaping, and recreational urban planning.
According to officials, the initiative is being carried out under the directives of the Ministry of Housing and Works and FGEHA leadership. Technical teams are currently working on a comprehensive plan focused on horticulture, green infrastructure, and environmental enhancement across both sectors.
As part of the project, consultations have been held with horticulture specialists and engineering teams, followed by site inspections to assess natural features and potential development zones within the area.
The proposed plan includes climate-friendly infrastructure such as modern check dams for rainwater harvesting and groundwater recharge, along with large-scale nurseries to support extensive plantation and green cover throughout the development.
In addition, the design incorporates recreational and lifestyle amenities including cycling tracks, pedestrian walkways, scenic viewpoints, seating areas, boating points, and suspension bridges integrated within the natural landscape.
Officials said special attention is being given to preserving existing natural features such as a cave and a natural lake in Sector F-14, which will be enhanced through eco-friendly engineering and landscaping to serve as recreational attractions.
Consultants and contractors have been instructed to integrate modern horticultural and environmentally sustainable elements into the master planning framework on a priority basis.
FGEHA leadership stated that the project aims to move beyond conventional housing schemes by combining urban development with environmental conservation and enhanced public facilities.
Once completed, the development is expected to give Sectors F-14 and F-15 a distinct identity within Islamabad, offering residents a green, well-planned, and recreation-oriented living environment.
