Online Tax Returns Submission Portal Working
According to news reports, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) of Islamabad has declared that the online tax returns submission site – IRIS – is operational and filers should use the system to submit their income tax returns before the deadline ends.

According to the information provided, IRIS had previously crashed when thousands of users attempted to file tax returns. FBR had increased its system’s capability in order to deliver extraordinary services to taxpayers.
On September 28, 150,00 returns were filed, which was the biggest number of returns ever filed in a single day.

Furthermore, FBR reaffirmed that there will be no extension of the September 30 deadline for filing income tax returns for Tax Year 2021. (TY-21).
To accommodate the greatest number of filers, the office will remain open until midnight tonight. To avoid problems, the FBR has asked that people complete their income tax filings before the deadline.
