Ishaq Dar, the finance minister, tweeted the statement after presiding over a meeting of the ECC to endorse the policy. The minister consented to offer $90 million in foreign exchange insurance.
According to policy, Pakistan has been given 179,210 Hajj slots for the year 2023, which would be split equally between government and commercial Hajj program.
A quota of 50% from both the public and private hajj schemes must be set aside for the sponsorship program.
The preliminary Hajj Package for the Northern and Southern regions for the year 2023 is Rs. 1,175,000 and Rs. 1,165,000, respectively.
Ishaq Dar met last week with Mufti Abdul Shakoor, Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, and gave him his word that he would do all possible to make the pilgrims’ experience as blessed and peaceful as possible.
Prior to that, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) stated on Saturday that it will begin operating flights for this year’s Hajj on May 21 and end them on August 2.
According to a PIA spokeswoman, the national airline will operate flights from various cities in Pakistan to Jeddah and Madinah using the Boeing 777 and Airbus A-320 during the Hajj operation.
The PIA also made the decision to maintain its practise from the previous year of charging pilgrims travelling to Saudi Arabia via private Hajj schemes airfare in US dollars.
The cost of the pilgrims’ flights will be between $870 and $1,180 for those from the Southern region and $910 to $1,220 for those from the Northern region, respectively.
According to the spokeswoman, the Ministry of Religious Affairs would release the total cost of travel for pilgrims participating in government-sponsored Hajj trips. According to sources, the fare will probably cost between Rs310,000 and Rs330,000, with the total cost of the hajj estimated to rise to Rs1.25 million this year.
