PESHAWAR – March 24, 2025: The Elementary & Secondary Education Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has officially extended spring holidays for all public and private schools across the province until April 8, 2025. The move comes in line with the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations and follows similar decisions by other provinces like Punjab.
According to the notification, students will continue to enjoy their break through the first week of April. However, the holidays are not extended for all. School staff, including principals, head teachers, and clerical employees, are required to report for duty starting April 3.

During this time, staff will be tasked with distributing free textbooks and facilitating the enrollment of new students as part of the province-wide school admission campaign. These administrative efforts aim to ensure a smooth and organized start to the upcoming academic year.
Provincial authorities have issued clear instructions for strict compliance with the revised holiday schedule. Education officials, deputy commissioners, and the Chief Minister’s office have all been informed to oversee the implementation and ensure continuity in essential school functions.
This strategic move allows students and educators a balanced mix of extended rest and essential school preparations, reflecting a proactive approach by the KP government to manage academic transitions effectively.
