Pakistan’s Electric Bus Service Officially Launches in Karachi
The first route of Pakistan’s first electric bus service has begun operating in Karachi, according to Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon.
The first electric bus will go between Seaview Beach and Clifton Clock. The initial batch of 50 electric buses, according to Memon, have begun operating on Karachi’s streets, and the fleet will continue to expand over time.

The government has also installed a solar power system to charge the buses. Memon emphasised that each bus has a 240-kilometer driving range on a single charge.
He promised to put wealth, progress, and development first, starting with providing the populace with greater transportation options.
Electric Taxi Service
The Sindh government has announced plans to introduce an electric taxi service that will compete with ride-hailing platforms toward the end of last year.
According to Memon, the prices for the currently available ride-hailing services have significantly increased. This has increased the importance of launching a new, more affordable taxi service.

Memon claimed that the Sindh government is steadfastly working to establish a modern, cosy, and environmentally friendly taxi service in Karachi. He continued by saying that the public will soon be able to use this project.
Memon did not provide a debut date, but given that the government has not yet begun testing the service, it is logical to presume that it will take some time.
