The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has missed the July 30, 2026 deadline for completing and opening the Margalla Enclave Underpass on Park Road, with construction work still underway.
The underpass was scheduled to open to traffic by July 30 and is expected to provide direct access between Park Road and DHA Margalla Enclave once completed. However, the delay has continued to create difficulties for motorists using the busy route.

Diversions Add to Traffic Congestion
Temporary traffic diversions around the construction site have reduced available road space, resulting in long queues and slower traffic, particularly during peak hours.
Some motorists have also been reported driving on the wrong side of the road near the diversions, creating additional congestion and safety concerns for other commuters.
Residents have raised concerns about limited traffic management in the affected area, particularly during busy periods, and have called for stronger enforcement against wrong-way driving and other violations.
Residents Seek Early Completion
The latest delay has added to frustrations among Park Road residents, who have already experienced prolonged disruption during previous rehabilitation and widening work between Rawal Chowk and Taramri Chowk.

Residents are now urging the CDA to complete the Margalla Enclave underpass as quickly as possible and improve traffic management around the construction zone.
They say the continued congestion is increasing daily travel times and fuel costs for commuters.
The underpass is expected to improve connectivity and traffic movement between Park Road and DHA Margalla Enclave once operational. Until then, residents and motorists are seeking faster construction progress and better traffic control to reduce the impact of the ongoing work.
