PCRWR to Conduct Feasibility for Recharging Groundwater Level
Islamabad: The Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) will finish its feasibility study to identify areas for pond construction in order to recharge groundwater level by the end of this year.

According to a press release published by the Planning Commission on Tuesday, PCRWR Chairperson Dr. Mohammad Ashraf made this statement while briefing a meeting that was presided over by Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Asad Umar.
He claimed locations for ponds where stream water would be held to elevate groundwater level will be found. He told the group that the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICToutlying )’s areas were also experiencing a water deficit in addition to the city’s commercial districts.
The MoU that was signed on July 8 between the CDA and PCRWR was also discussed during the meeting.

According to the planning minister, the attempt to recharge groundwater will increase people’s access to water before next summer.
According to him, the minister instructed the PCRWR to sign a memorandum of understanding, much like it did with the CDA and the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority.
