PHA Told to Grow Miyawaki Forest Near Saggian
Lahore: The Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has ordered the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) to plant 112,500 native trees and shrubs in China Park near Saggian Bridge in order to create Asia’s largest Miyawaki urban forest.
The chief minister stated in a statement that similar urban forests would also be created at 15 additional locations in the city of Lahore to grow a total of 292,500 trees.

In Gulshan-i-Iqbal Park, he stated that 58,000 trees would be planted over a 50-kanal area, and in Township, he stated that another 58,000 trees would be grown over a 50-kanal space. He also stated that 13,500 trees would be planted at the Township nursery’s 12-kanal property.

Similarly, he said, Miyawaki urban forests would also be developed at C-Block Sabzazar, Ganj Sarkar Sabzazar, Qaddafi Park (Gulshan-i-Ravi), Saggian Interchange, Rustam Park (Gulshan-i-Ravi), Karim Park Golbagh near Data Darbar, side 1 and 2 of Mahmood Booti, Green Town, Mustafa Bhatti Park, Kashmir Park and Khalid Butt Park of Township.
