PM Orders STZA to Set Up Tech Zones in All Major Cities
According to press reports, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan directed Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA) Chairman Amer Ahmed Hashmi on November 8 to build Special Technology Zones (STZ) in all of the country’s major towns.

According to the specifics, the chairman updated the PM on the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Expo 2020 Dubai, the development of Special Economic Zones (STZs), and the interest of both international and domestic companies in investing in Pakistan.
In addition, PM Khan was apprised of the investment pipeline created by the Pakistan Tech Summit in Istanbul and Expo 2020 in Dubai.
In addition, Chairman Hashmi indicated that a number of small and medium-sized firms (SMEs), anchor tenants, venture capital fund managers, startups, and universities had expressed interest in investing in the tech zones as a result of STZA’s efforts.

Notably, the parliament has already passed the STZA Act, and the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has granted land for the development of Islamabad’s first STZ.
