Polyclinic Handed Over Plot for Extension
Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) recently gave the hospital administration a five-acre plot, resolving the long-standing issue of Polyclinic’s expansion.

The land is situated in G-11/3, the location where Polyclinic plans to build a new hospital. The hospital administration received ownership of the site from a CDA official.
The provision of land for Polyclinic’s extension, according to Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on CDA Affairs Ali Nawaz Awan, was a positive development because both the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) and Polyclinic were overcrowded and the new hospital will ease the burden on the two hospitals.
Environmentalists and G-6 residents petitioned the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to preserve the park’s territory. The proposed hospital enlargement into the park was thrown out in July 2019 by IHC Chief Judge Athar Minallah.
Dr. Jabbar Bhutto, the project’s point person, stated the Polyclinic management is overjoyed to have control of the property. He stated that G-11 would house Polyclinic II.
He stated that CDA had already been paid for the site and that the hospital also operated 30 dispensaries scattered over different neighborhoods.
