Premier Briefed on Karachi Anti-Encroachment Drive
According to news sources, Imran Khan was briefed on the repair of three main nullahs in Karachi and an anti-encroachment campaign along storm drains.

The Prime Minister was informed by Lieutenant-General Akhtar, Chairman of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), that the nullahs in the Mahmoodabad, Gujjar, and Orangi districts, as well as the Malir and Lyari rivers, will be reconstructed. The design also includes the construction of roads along these drains, the installation of a sewage system, and the relocation of utility infrastructure.
The chairman stated that the anti-encroachment campaign along key storm drains is ongoing and that the majority of the land along the nullahs has been recovered.

- All land along Mahmoodabad Nullah was recovered
- 98% advancement along Orangi nullahs
- 89% of encroachments from Gujjar Nullah were eliminated.
- 97% of Orangi’s dredging and cleaning work is complete
- The dredging of the and Mahmoodabad nullahs is 90 percent complete.
- 79% of the Gujjar Nullah project is complete.
The development work in the districts will be completed by June 2022, the Premier was informed.
