Protest Eviction for Private Schools in Pindi Cantonment Board

Tuesday’s Rawalpindi protest march from Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) to Chaklala Cantonment Board (CCB) was organized by hundreds of private school and college owners, teachers, and students. As a result of receiving orders to remove residential areas by December 31, the protestors gathered to demonstrate.

An official revealed that 495 private schools and colleges were notified by the Supreme Court of Pakistan to vacate from residential areas. The protesters demanded that private educational establishments in residential areas not be evicted. In addition, they demand a delay until the canton administration supplies them with an alternative operating location.

Mr. Qaiser Mehmood, an official from the RCB, informed the resources that the final orders to move out of residential zones had been sent to 495 private schools and colleges. After that, stringent measures, including the closure of their structures, would be pursued against them.

In order to notify the general public, parents, principals, and owners of educational institutions, RCB erected banners in conspicuous locations across the cantonment, he added. Earlier, the institutions were presented with multiple notices to vacate the residential building by the end of December.
