The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has introduced a special surveillance plan to enhance security at cattle markets across Punjab ahead of Eid ul Azha.

According to the authority, monitoring is being carried out using Safe City cameras, drone surveillance, and portable 4G cameras deployed at various cattle markets, including locations in Lahore.

A PSCA spokesperson said that round-the-clock monitoring is being conducted through the Virtual Patrolling Center established at the authority’s headquarters, ensuring continuous oversight of cattle markets and surrounding areas.

He added that additional portable 4G cameras are being installed at key points to strengthen surveillance, particularly at entry and exit gates and other sensitive areas. Any suspicious activity detected through the system is being immediately relayed to police and field teams for swift action.

The authority also stated that efforts are underway to identify illegal cattle markets and unauthorized sale points, which are being reported to relevant departments to ensure organized, secure, and well-managed arrangements for citizens during the Eid ul Azha season.
