LAHORE: The Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA), in collaboration with the Board of Revenue Punjab and the Punjab government, has launched the province’s first overseas land transfer desk in London, allowing overseas Pakistanis to complete property and land transfer procedures without travelling to Pakistan.
The facility was formally inaugurated at the Pakistan High Commission in London on August 3, 2026, in partnership with the High Commission.
Under the new system, overseas Pakistanis can visit the dedicated desk in London to process the transfer of property and land located in Punjab. The initiative is aimed at making land-related transactions more convenient, secure and transparent while reducing the need for overseas citizens to travel to Pakistan to complete documentation and transfer procedures.
Officials said the facility would improve access to land services for the Pakistani diaspora while promoting greater transparency, secure record-keeping and efficiency in property transactions.
The London desk marks the first international expansion of Punjab’s land transfer services for overseas Pakistanis. According to the PLRA, similar facilities are expected to be established in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates within the next 30 days.
The initiative is expected to increase overseas Pakistanis’ confidence in Punjab’s land records system and provide them with a more secure and accessible mechanism for transferring property.
The overseas land transfer desks are part of the provincial government’s broader efforts to digitise land-related services and make property transactions more transparent and efficient.
Officials said the expansion would help bring Punjab’s land services closer to overseas Pakistanis and reduce administrative barriers associated with property transactions from abroad.
