Punjab Police to Adopt Biometric Attendance System
To ensure that police officers are on time and regularly, the Punjab Police Department has chosen to use a biometric attendance system in 750 police stations across the province, including 66 in the Rawalpindi Division.

Out of the 66 police stations, 30 are in the district of Rawalpindi, including the lone female police station, 14 are in Chakwal, and 11 are in Jhelum. The police department has purchased machines so that the biometric attendance system will be operational until June 10, 2021.
The biometric attendance system would be deployed in the offices of senior police officers like SSPs, SPs, and DSPs after being implemented at 750 police stations across the province.

The authorities also indicated that, by using these devices before June 10, 2021, the fingerprints of every police officer, from constable to inspector, may be entered into the Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS) in order to accurately report biometric attendance.
The installation of the equipment is another step in the force’s modernization. A top police officer claimed that improving efficiency and changing the culture of the police require the use of scientific technologies.
