Punjab to Launch 200 New Development Schemes
On August 24, news outlets reported that Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar announced the opening of 200 new development projects across the province.
In this regard, the prime minister has directed housing secretary Dr. Zafar Nasrallah to convene a meeting within three days.

The proposed projects include the construction of overpasses, underpasses, and signal-free lanes in Lahore, as well as the acceptance of the Lahore Development Authority’s rules by all housing control authorities in the province to combat the proliferation of illegal housing schemes.
The government intends to create land-use restrictions similar to the LDA and implement them in other housing control organizations.

In addition, the projects involve the construction of underground water storage tanks in various regions of the province to collect rainfall. Director General LDA Ahmad Aziz Trar will provide an update to the Directors General (DGs) of Development Authorities and Water and Sanitation Agencies (WASAs) from Faisalabad, Multan, Gujranwala, and Rawalpindi at the next meeting organized by the Secretary of Housing.
According to reliable sources, Chief Minister Buzdar wants all of the province’s major cities to be constructed similarly to Lahore.
