The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has agreed to receive technical support from the World Bank for its future intra-city bus service.
Details state that while in the CDA offices, a group led by Jen Jungenu Oh met with officials from the civic authority, including Chairman Anwarul Haq.
The World Bank representatives were informed during the discussion about the metro bus services in the nation’s capital as well as the upcoming debut of a new service. Thirty of the 160 vehicles in the fleet will come from China for the new bus service early next month.
The CDA officials informed the visiting team that they would be building three bus depots, the largest of which would be located at Zero Point.

Following an in-depth explanation from the authority, the World Bank representatives consented to offer technical assistance for the duration of the depot development.
But it refrained from offering financial support, telling CDA that it would investigate the issue later. Member Planning was designated by Chairman CDA as the main point of contact for liaising with World Bank specialists.
Conversely, CDA was compelled to use open tendering since government enterprises showed little interest in bidding for the contract for the Zero Point depot.
Five government-owned businesses, National Logistics Cell, Frontier Work Organisation, National Development Company, and Railway Construction Company, were among the five that the city authorities had previously invited to submit bids for the main depot’s development. But none of them expressed any curiosity.
