Rawalpindi Ring Road Project has been Approved
Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Punjab for Information, announced on Thursday that the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) project has been approved and work will begin in August, according to news reports.

During a news conference held at the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) headquarters, she added that every effort is being made to commence building of the 38-kilometer-long Rawalpindi Ring Road, which spans from G.T. Road to Thulian near the Motorway. During the meeting, RDA Chairman Tariq Murtaza, RDA Director General Nadeem Ahmed Abro, and RDA Vice Chairman Haroon Hashmi were present.
Dr. Firdous indicated during the press conference that measures are being taken to combat illegal stone crushing in Hasanabdal, which contributes to environmental concerns.

RDA has planned the development of housing projects, 62 of which have been approved and 60 of which are undergoing approval. In contrast, 264 housing projects have been deemed illegal. The RDA has also filed 112 FIRs against illegal societies, closed 105 offices, and issued 307 legal notifications.
Dr. Firdous also disclosed the construction of three underpasses at Katchery Chowk, Ammar Chowk, and Defense Chowk.
