The Rs. 47 billion Rawalpindi Ring Road project is expected to be completed in the first week of July, with only final finishing work remaining.
According to Deputy Project Director Ashfaq Sulheri, the Punjab government will be informed once construction is complete, after which an inauguration date will be announced before the road is opened to traffic.
The remaining work includes lane markings, drainage, fencing, landscaping, road signs, and street lighting.
The 38.3-kilometre Ring Road will connect Baanth on GT Road to Thalian and features five interchanges at Baanth, Maira Mohra, Khasala, Kolian Par, and Thalian.
Authorities also plan to develop an industrial zone along the corridor, while construction of the Thalian Interchange will begin after the main project is completed.
