A high-level meeting was held in Rawalpindi to review land management issues and assess progress on the Rawalpindi Master Plan.
The meeting was chaired by Commissioner Rawalpindi Division and Director General of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Engr. Aamer Khattak. It was attended by the deputy commissioners of Rawalpindi and Attock, along with assistant commissioners from Taxila, Gujar Khan, Kahuta, Hassan Abdal, and Fateh Jang, as well as senior RDA officials.
During the briefing, officials reviewed land and property matters across Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Murree, and other tehsils of the division. The presentations included updates on property status, development potential, and administrative challenges in different jurisdictions.
The Chief Planner of RDA presented a detailed update on the Rawalpindi Master Plan, highlighting progress achieved so far along with remaining development targets. After reviewing the report, the commissioner instructed the concerned departments to speed up implementation and ensure timely completion of the plan.
He emphasized the importance of strong coordination between district administrations and relevant departments to effectively manage urban expansion and ensure planned development across the region.
The commissioner further stressed the need to safeguard public land, prevent encroachments, and strengthen land-use planning in line with the objectives of the Master Plan.
He added that a comprehensive and integrated planning framework is essential for sustainable urban development, environmental protection, and improving living standards for residents across the Rawalpindi Division.
