RDA Finalizes Rs. 2.3 Billion Budget
Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has finalised its Rs 2.3 billion budget for the fiscal year 2021-22, the majority of which will be allocated to development projects.

The government of Punjab would fund all development projects, while the municipal body will use its income to pay employees and cover other expenses.
The RDA has already increased the building plan fee for residential, commercial, and industrial plots and units by fifty percent. The increase became effective in March 2021.
The budget plans were finalised by the finance subcommittee, which consisted of the Finance Department, Planning and Development Department, Housing Urban Development and Public Health Engineering Department, during a meeting chaired by RDA General Director Nadeem Abro.

Land acquisition for the construction of the Leh Expressway and Flood Channel totaling Rs 20 million, the renovation of Kutchery Chowk (Rs 300 million), the renovation of Defence Chowk (Rs 300 million), and the establishment of a Project Management Unit for the Leh Nullah Expressway Project and Urban Regeneration Plan were among the new development schemes.
The official stated that the RDA has met its recovery target for the 2020-21 fiscal year.
