RDA Forwards LEH Expressway Project for Final Approval
According to news reports, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has submitted the Leh Expressway project to the Public Private Partnership (PPP) board for final approval. Following board approval, an invitation to bid will be sent.

During the 57th RDA governing body meeting, presided over by Rawalpindi Division Commissioner Syed Gulzar Hussain Shah and RDA Chairman Tariq Mehsud Murtaza, the decision was made.
National Engineering Services Pakistan (Nespak) advised conference attendees that the final plan to be submitted to the PPP board asks for reducing the width of the Leh Expressway from 35-50 meters to 25-35 meters, hence reducing the project’s land requirement.

The Central Development Working Group (CDWP) and the Punjab Planning and Development Board have recently approved the Leh Expressway project, which has been in the works for sixteen years (P&D). The PKR 25 billion project includes the construction of roads on both sides of the Nullah Leh and the deepening of the flood channel to withstand monsoon floods better.
