RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has issued official notices to developers of 13 illegal housing schemes operating in the city, as part of its ongoing efforts to curb unauthorised developments and protect property buyers from potential financial losses.
The authority has urged citizens to verify the legal status and approval of any housing project before purchasing property or making payments, particularly in schemes that are actively marketing plots or residential units.
According to available information, the notices were issued to housing schemes that were allegedly operating without completing the required approval process under applicable housing regulations. The concerned developers have been directed to respond to the notices and fulfil the necessary legal and regulatory requirements.
Failure to comply could result in further action by the RDA in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
The authority has repeatedly warned that unauthorised housing schemes can expose buyers to significant risks. In some cases, developers may begin advertising properties, accepting bookings, or carrying out development work before securing the necessary approvals.
