RDA prepares PC-I of Kutchery Chowk Underpass Project
As the Rs 1.307 billion Ammar Chowk renovation project would be completed by December 20, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has recommended that the Rs 3.6 billion Kutchery Chowk underpass project be initiated.
The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has drafted PC-I for the renovation of Kutchery Chowk and Defence Chowk and submitted it to the Planning and Development Board for approval.
Kutchery Chowk was anticipated to cost 3.630 billion rupees, while Defence Chowk will cost 2.200 billion rupees to build.
Regarding the project’s PC-I, he stated that the provincial government had forwarded it to the communication and worked department for review and that the Planning and Development Board would grant formal permission once it received a green light.

When contacted, RDA spokesperson Mohammad Irfan stated that the RDA was focusing on two major projects, namely Kutchery Chowk and Defence Chowk.
In order to avoid traffic congestion in the garrison city’s main squares, he stated that work on the projects will begin only after the completion of Ammar Chowk, as directed by the Punjab government.
