Record RS 156 Billion Budget Ratified for CDA
Islamabad: For the Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) non-development and development expenditures for the fiscal year 2021–2022, a record budget of Rs. 156 billion was approved.
The budget was submitted by Member Finance Shakeel Jazeb to the CDA board, which met at the CDA headquarters under the leadership of Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed.
According to the budgetary documents, no major initiatives are anticipated for the upcoming fiscal year; instead, attention will be given to ongoing projects.
In addition to I.J. Principal Road, PWD Underpass, 7th Avenue, 10th Avenue, a new slaughterhouse, and a ladies club, the CDA officials claimed that Rs 40 billion has been allocated for a variety of development projects, including Rs 2 billion for the construction of houses for low-income people in Farash Town, Rs 60 million for Rawal Chowk Signal Free Corridor, Rs 10 million for Margalla Avenue, and Rs 40 billion for various development projects.
According to CDA officials, the anticipated spending for the upcoming fiscal year was Rs 82 billion, and the predicted revenue collection was Rs 156 billion, leaving a surplus of Rs 73 billion.
However, a sizable portion—Rs 58 billion—is indicated as being due from several entities, and its eventual recovery is doubtful. The CDA budget for the previous two years did not include such an income source.
The CDA board has also authorized corona allowance for Grade 1 to 19 employees and officers for the upcoming five months, in addition to passing the budget.
