Revised Alignment of Bhara Kahu Bypass Approved
The city administrators of Islamabad accepted the altered alignment of the Bhara Kahu bypass segment of the proposed Margalla Road.
According to sources, the Army’s Engineer-in-Chief (E&C) branch presented the planned alignment of the 7.4km Bhara Kahu bypass route, which is part of the Margalla Road project, to CDA officials at the agency’s headquarters.
The E&C division, which was engaged by the CDA, reportedly prepared an alignment, but the civic agency did not approve of it since a piece of the alignment lay on private property near Kot Hatyal.
A few months ago, Prime Minister Imran Khan broke ground on the project and tasked the CDA with its implementation. Several military sites were in close proximity to the road alignment, so the CDA hired Frontier Works Organization for this job.

According to the reports, the FWO has finished around 20% of the first section in the Sangjani region. Before the end of their five-year term, the PTI government, which initiated this project, wants at least two segments (first and last) to be completed.
