Rs 1.2 billion Projects Being Launched at Rohtas Fort
Lahore: The Tourism and Archeology Department will undertake projects worth Rs 1.2 billion to enhance visitor amenities at the Jhelum Rohtas Fort.

Work on the 3.1-kilometer Rohtas Fort Bypass, which has been approved by the Provincial Development Working Group, would begin within two months, according to retired Captain Mushtaq Ahmed, Secretary of the Tourism and Archeology Department.
He stated that the bypass will expedite the transportation of tourists to the historical site and that the tourism department was striving to develop tourist attractions in Punjab, such as Rohtas Fort and Kotli Sattian.
Mr. Mushtaq stated that solar panels would be placed to provide continuous power, and that the Sher Shah Suri Museum would also be renovated.

In addition to a good parking area for automobiles, the proposal also included visitor accommodations outside the fort on the bypass, with food outlets and restrooms of world quality.
The expected cost of all PTEGP initiatives at Rohtas Fort is roughly Rs1 billion, while the estimated cost of Archaeology Department projects is approximately Rs256 million.
