Rs 2.9 Billion Uoe Budget Approved
In its 63rd meeting, the University of Education Syndicate in Lahore adopted a Rs 2.9 billion annual budget for 2021–2022, allocating Rs 737 million for development and Rs 2.2 billion for non–development.

The Syndicate gave its approval for the creation of three new departments: Educational Psychology, Sports Sciences and Physical Education, and Educational Assessment and Evaluation. It also gave its approval for the divisions of arts and social sciences and management and administrative sciences to reopen.
11 new PhD programmes, 29 new MPhil programmes, and the launch of MBA programmes on the campuses in Vehari, Faisalabad, Jauharabad, Multan, and Lower Mall all received clearance during the meeting.

The Syndicate also approved the “English Works” programme, a joint initiative with the US Embassy that will teach English and other soft skills to 100 students between the ages of 17 and 25. The program’s unique feature is that each student will receive a tablet and free internet access, and it will be entirely free of charge.
