Quetta to Get 3 Major Dams to Alleviate Water Scarcity
To help with Quetta’s severe water deficit, Balochistan Public Health Engineering (PHE) has filed a feasibility study for three large dams.

The PHE agency has finished the feasibility report and PC 1 for these dams, which also include the Babar Kach, Brij Aziz Khan, and Halak, and have started construction.
The provincial capital of Balochistan has been experiencing a serious water crisis as a result of the rapid depletion of subterranean water levels over time.
The province has made the decision to get in touch with the federal government and request that these dam projects be included in the federal Public Sector Development Program in order to address this issue (PSDP). It is estimated that the Babar Kach Dam will cost Rs. 73 billion, the Burj Aziz Khan Dam Rs. 48 billion, and the Halak Dam Rs. 22 billion.

According to reports, the chief minister of Balochistan, Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, will ask the prime minister to take these Rs. 143 billion projects into account while determining the federal PSDP for the fiscal year 2023–2024.
