RS 4 Billion to Release for Gas Supply to 9 Kohat UCs
Kohat: The federal government would give Rs 4 billion the next month to supply natural gas to nine Kohat union councils.

Speaking to media here on Friday, MNA Shehryar Afridi said that 4,000 homes in the ancient Jarma region have been clamouring for gas for a very long time.
For the nine union councils of Chor Lakki, Khushalgarh, Shiekh Allah Dad, Shah Pur, Nasrat Khel, Ustarzai Payan, Dhodha, Alizai, and Sher Kot, Mr. Afridi said that Rs 4 billion will be given in June.
He lamented that residents of a significant portion of Kohat, where the gas reserves had been found, were compelled to use expensive LPG, wood, and electricity for heating and cooking.
Separately, MPA Ziaullah Bangash, a former chief minister’s adviser, claimed that the first funding influx gave rise to expectations that the Liaquat Memorial Hospital’s protracted construction would soon be finished.

In a conversation with media, he remembered that the hospital project had been launched in 2018 by the then-chief minister Pervez Khattak, who had made an investment of Rs 1.25 billion. However, he said, the contractor had abandoned the project in part because of a lack of funding.
