The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and the Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) have agreed to strengthen coordination and accelerate loan processing under the Prime Minister’s Apna Ghar Scheme, aiming to make affordable housing finance more accessible for eligible applicants.
The decision was made during a meeting at the FDA Complex chaired by FDA Director General Muhammad Asif Chaudhry. The meeting was attended by SBP Chief Manager Fouzia Aslam, senior FDA officials, and representatives of commercial banks.
Faster Processing Through Better Coordination
Officials agreed to simplify administrative procedures by appointing dedicated focal persons from both the SBP and FDA. The move is expected to improve communication between institutions and ensure faster processing of housing finance applications.
The initiative is designed to reduce delays and make it easier for applicants to complete the required documentation and approval process.

According to SBP Chief Manager Fouzia Aslam, the housing finance scheme has received significant public interest since its launch.

Affordable Housing Finance
Under the Prime Minister’s Apna Ghar Scheme, eligible applicants can obtain housing finance of up to Rs. 10 million at a subsidized 5% annual markup for a repayment period of up to 10 years.
The financing is available for the construction of houses on residential plots measuring up to 10 marlas.
FDA Assures Full Support
FDA Director General Muhammad Asif Chaudhry assured complete administrative support for the program, stating that all necessary formalities, including the issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs), would be processed on a priority basis.
He said the initiative would help meet the growing demand for affordable housing while supporting the construction industry, creating employment opportunities, and contributing to overall economic growth.
