SC Orders Development of Underpasses, Bridges at KCR
According to news sources, the Supreme Court (SC) has ordered the Sindh government to fulfil the documentation requirements and release funding for the construction of underpasses and overhead bridges on the Karachi Circular Railway (KCT) line in Karachi.

According to the directives issued by the three-member bench of the Supreme Court led by Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmad, the project’s PC-I, contract signing, issuance of the work order, and availability of the money required for the project’s execution must be completed within one month. In addition, the Advocate General of Sindh, Salman Talibuddin, has one month to deliver a project report.
According to court documents, FWO, in conjunction with the railways, modified the project’s scope and nature, preventing the provincial government from initiating it.

The court determined the redesigned design to be practical, technically sound, and acceptable to all parties after hearing arguments from both parties.
Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) is a 50-kilometer-long, partially operational public transit system in the provincial metropolis. The project gradually fell victim to the invasion and became obsolete.
