SC Seeks Details on Misuse of Amenity Plots, Railways Land
In two separate cases involving Karachi, the Supreme Court (SC) has ordered Pakistan Railways to reclaim land illegally occupied by unapproved housing plans, according to news sources. The SC has also requested the data of all amenity plots in Karachi.

According to reports, a three-member bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan led by Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed ordered the Director General of the Karachi Development Authority (KDA) to provide a detailed report on the number of amenity plots in the city, their master plans, allotment records, and the purpose for which these plots are being used.
CJP voiced displeasure about commercial encroachment on amenity plots designated for parks, government hospitals, and schools.
The top justice, while presiding over a case involving the illegal possession of Pakistan Railways land, directed the government to reclaim its land from unauthorised schemes.

The court made these statements upon learning that the land on which a train station was to be constructed is occupied.
During the Supreme Court’s hearing on the anti-encroachment operation at Gujjar Nullah, the court ordered the continuation of the operation and declared that all illegal buildings would be demolished and responsible officials would be brought to justice.
