SECP Facilitate Corporate Sector by Reducing Regulatory Burden
Aamir Khan, the chairman of Pakistan’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SECP), reaffirmed SECP’s dedication to outcome-based regulation by easing regulatory burden, streamlining legislation, and making best use of technology.

The SECP Chairman gave a briefing to the attendees on the major reforms the SECP has implemented to encourage ease of doing business, improve access to financing, foster the growth of the capital market, and increase transparency in the regulatory functions of the Commission and its regulated sectors.
Several reforms have been implemented to help the corporate sector and guarantee the desired efficiency in processes, including the digitization of the certificate of incorporation process, the development of a special bank account opening portal, the account opening process for residents and non-residents for capital market investment, and others.
The SECP Chair promised the PBC members that any regulatory changes will be finalised with consultation.

The CEO acknowledged the SECP’s efforts to promote ease of doing business (EOBI) on behalf of the Pakistan Business Council and offered his suggestions for how to further enhance the business environment.
