Signal Free Road at Ferozepur with Multan Road Approved

According to news sources, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) would construct a 15-kilometer signal-free corridor between the Kharak Stop (Multan Road) and the Lahore Burj (Ferozepur Road), connecting the Metro Orange Train track to the Metro Bus service. The Punjab government has approved the project, which will be completed at a cost of PKR 7 billion.

The feasibility report for this Mass Transit System project has been completed, and the following structures will be included in the project.

The development of five underpasses
Construction of 15 km free of traffic signals
Construction of 28 pedestrian bridges
Construction of the flyover connecting Kareem Block and Ferozepur Road at Shouq Chowk
Construction of a tunnel at Model Town Link
Flyover construction at Akbar Chowk for traffic from Ferozepur Road
Underpass construction at Kareem Block

In the coming days, the LDA Director General would also update the Chief Minister of Punjab on the matter and request financing. Sources indicate that the LDA will not require land acquisition for the operation. The effort is expected to reduce the amount of time spent in major metropolitan bottlenecks.
