Karachi: The Sindh government has stepped up efforts to resolve long-pending land allotment issues, remove illegal encroachments, and provide timely relief to genuine allottees across the province.
The decision was made during a meeting of the Provincial Cabinet’s Land Committee, chaired by Sindh Local Government Minister Nasir Hussain Shah. The committee reviewed complaints related to land allotments, illegal occupations, and pending matters involving the Karachi Development Authority (KDA), Malir Development Authority (MDA), and Lyari Development Authority (LDA).
The minister directed the relevant departments to prepare a comprehensive list of genuine allottees to ensure their cases are resolved transparently and in accordance with the law. He also instructed officials to speed up the resolution of public complaints and avoid unnecessary delays in processing cases.
Nasir Hussain Shah said the provincial government would work with police and other law enforcement agencies to recover plots illegally occupied by land grabbers and return them to their rightful owners.
According to the minister, several plots and parcels of government land under the jurisdiction of the Malir, Lyari, and Karachi development authorities have already been recovered through ongoing anti-encroachment operations, which will continue in the coming months.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to protecting public property, Shah said every effort would be made to safeguard the rights of legitimate allottees. He also advised affected citizens to first approach the relevant development authorities to register their complaints and seek official resolution.
