The Sindh government has directed all private schools to strictly comply with approved fee regulations, warning that institutions charging unauthorized fees or increasing tuition without approval could face suspension or cancellation of their registration.

The warning follows complaints that several private schools have raised tuition fees beyond the permitted limits and imposed additional charges on parents without obtaining approval from the relevant authorities.

In an official directive issued to private school administrations, Additional Director General of Private Institutions Prof. Rafia Mallah reminded schools that collecting any fee other than the approved tuition fee without prior authorization violates the Sindh Private Educational Institutions (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2005.

The notification further stated that charging tuition fees in violation of the prescribed rules or collecting unauthorized additional charges constitutes an offense under the Sindh Private Educational Institutions (Regulation and Control) Ordinance, 2001.

Schools have been instructed to:

  • Follow the approved fee structure without deviation.
  • Display the approved fee schedule prominently on school notice boards and reception areas.
  • Provide copies of the fee structure to parents upon request to ensure transparency.

The government reiterated that hidden or extra charges beyond the approved fee structure are strictly prohibited. Schools found violating the regulations may face legal action, including the suspension or cancellation of their registration.

Separately, the Sindh government has directed all unregistered private schools to complete their registration through the official online portal within 15 days.

The notification also advised individuals and organizations planning to establish new private schools to ensure they meet all standards and requirements set by the Sindh School Education Department before applying for registration. Schools that fail to meet the prescribed criteria will not be registered and may be closed by the district administration, with enrolled students transferred to nearby educational institutions.
