More than 52,000 acres of public land have been approved for corporate agriculture growing by the in-charge Sindh administration.
According to Geo News, this decision, which was made last week, allocates particular acreages for this project in a number of distinct locations, including Khairpur, Sujawal, Mithi, Dadu, Thatta, and Badin.
The Special Investment Facilitation Council is responsible for making the allocation (SIFC).

The chief secretary of Sindh gave the province Land Utilisation Department and the Board of Revenue instructions earlier this year to determine whether there is enough public land available for leasing and use in corporate agro-farming.
The Sindh government has issued a Statement of Conditions in accordance with the British-era Colonisation of Government Lands Act 1912 to oversee this land donation.
This declaration states that the government-owned land will be leased to people or organizations for 20 years at open auction for uses such as farming, livestock research, substitution of imports, and agriculture research. The government of Sindh is entitled to thirty-three percent of the project’s income in exchange.
The terms clearly prohibit departments of the federal and provincial governments from bidding on the land at the open auction but permit private enterprises to do so.
Plans are to lease the state land to a private business called Green Corporate Initiative Pvt Ltd, according to an agenda from a recent Sindh cabinet meeting on December 1.
This development in Sindh is reminiscent of a corporate agricultural initiative that exists in Punjab.
