STZA Requests Applications for Zone Enterprises in Islamabad

Islamabad: According to a press announcement, the Special Technology Zone Authority (STZA) was seeking proposals from zone enterprises to develop specialised technology facilities in the Flagship Zone, Islamabad Technopolis.

Only zone enterprises in the Islamabad Technopolis, including those zone enterprises that desire to construct their own specialised facilities, were asked to apply in the first round by the STZA.

The opening date for the second phase, during which applications for Zone Developers licences will be accepted, will soon be announced. Additionally, the STZA has established unique exclusions and tax holidays for potential zone firms for the following ten years. The benefits include tax holidays on:

Taxes on income
Taxes on turnover
Taxes on capital gains
Taxes on sales
Customs Duty on Capital Goods Imports
Capital gains and dividends from venture capital funds

The facility has created a One-Stop-Shop, a Special Currency Regulation, and location incentives for candidates in order to streamline and simplify the application process.
