UNESCO Impressed by Women Empowerment at Thar Coal project

Thursday, country director Patricia McPhillips of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) revealed this while touring block II of the Thar Coal project. She also visited the Thar Foundation’s projects, focusing on women’s empowerment programmes at the project site.
She spent time with female employees across all initiatives to comprehend how empowerment has altered their lives.
During her visit to Tharparkar, Miss Patricia could comprehend the inclusive development strategy that was assisting the local community and driving the development process ahead.

She concluded by noting that the locals, who have lived together for centuries, continue to live in great communal harmony, and that it was extremely enlightening and heartening to see how the TF initiatives were fostering further social cohesion and harmony, which would ultimately lead to substantive and sustainable progress.
