USAID Provides $338m Humanitarian Assistance to 2.2m TDPs
Since 2014, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has provided Pakistan with more than $338 million in humanitarian aid to support more than 2.2 million temporarily displaced people in areas such as agriculture, health, livelihoods, food, nutrition, protection, shelter, and water, sanitation, and hygiene.

He stated that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is assisting the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government in expanding governance, enhancing service delivery, providing economic opportunities, and constructing infrastructure in KP, particularly in the combined areas.
Afridi stated that stability and development in KP, especially in the districts amalgamated near the border with Afghanistan, are crucial to global and regional security.
In FATA, USAID was still rebuilding schools destroyed by terrorism and flooding, installing more infrastructure, and updating the energy system. Solar panels were installed for conventional water systems in the region.

For instance, USAID has created and rehabilitated over 967 schools and educational institutions, including the Girls’ schools that were devastated during the violence in 2009 and the floods in 2010. The reintegration of equipment for solid waste management, sanitation, and water pipes in the various areas is in its final stages.
