WhatsApp Groups Are Getting a Self-Destruct Option
WhatsApp implemented a disappearing message option in 2020, but it only worked for one-on-one talks. Expiring Groups is a feature that is currently being developed and has been discovered in WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.5.0.070’s TestFlight app.

The blog WABetaInfo, which tracks WhatsApp features, found this and reported it.
Users can select an expiration time frame for this function through group settings, which includes a day, a week, or a custom date.
Although being under group settings, it is crucial to remember that this feature only applies to your own communications. The group will still be able to see messages from other group members unless they have also specified expiration dates.

Nevertheless, WhatsApp will urge you to confirm before actually deleting your messages if you fail to deactivate the expiration of your messages. The software will also remind you to delete your groups before they expire.
By automatically deleting outdated, pointless groups and freeing up storage space, this function could be a useful tool for organising your WhatsApp account.
Remember that this function is currently only accessible in beta, and it is not yet known when it will be included to the stable version.
