Companion Mode will be a significant enhancement for WhatsApp users, especially those who possess multiple smartphones and wish to use the same account on each device. To achieve this, it is crucial to ensure that both phones are running the same version of the app.

According to the provided screenshot, Companion Mode functions similarly to linked devices. By accessing the linked devices section, users can obtain a QR code that they can scan on their secondary phone to connect it to the same WhatsApp account. This synchronization will extend to chats and media, allowing users to access their content on both phones.

Importantly, an active internet connection on the primary phone is not required to continue using WhatsApp on the secondary device.
