Work on Margalla Avenue likely to Start in 6 Months
After a long hiatus, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has resumed work on the coveted Margalla Avenue, a 21-mile dual-carriageway connecting the Grand Trunk (GT) roads near the ‘Nicholson Minar’ . Arterial (GT) road “Murree Expressway”, along Margalla Hills.

CDA has now awarded the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) contract for the second phase of the 23 km project from Sector D-12 to Murray Road/Murray Highway.
The preliminary cost for this second phase of Margala Avenue is Rs 20,000 crore, the type of financing is Public Private Partnership under PSDP Plus scheme and the completion time he is set at 2 years (24 months) .

There is currently only one access point. That is “Srinagar Highway” (formerly Kashmir Highway). Although it is a five-lane highway, it is sometimes congested due to ever-increasing traffic jams, especially heavy traffic.
Margara Avenue also allows for new sectors such as his C-14, C-15 and C-16 along Margara Hills. In addition, it will help relieve traffic congestion, especially from the crowded Bala Kaf, a CDA spokesman said.
