A 26-year-old Pakistani researcher is making her mark in the field of cancer science through innovative work on immunotherapy and cancer vaccine development in France.
Sabreena Khan is currently working at the Cancer Research Centre of Lyon, a leading oncology research institute known for its work in advancing cancer treatments. As part of the institute’s Immunology Department, she contributes to research focused on harnessing the body’s immune system to fight cancer.
From Pakistan to the Frontlines of Cancer Research
Born and raised in Pakistan, Sabreena left home at the age of 19 to pursue a degree in Bioengineering in South Korea. During her undergraduate studies, she developed a strong interest in applying engineering principles to medical research, particularly in the fight against cancer.
Her academic journey eventually led her to France, where she pursued a master’s degree in Cancer Bioengineering. Drawn by the country’s strong research ecosystem and commitment to scientific innovation, she found an opportunity to work on some of the most promising areas of modern cancer treatment.
