18 Miyawaki Forests Developed in Capital by CDA
Islamabad: Over the past two months, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has created 18 Miyawaki forests throughout the capital city.

CDA Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed told Dawn on Sunday, “We are looking into further ideas for similar new forests. He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has ordered the development of these woods.
The first Miyawaki forest was officially opened by the prime minister in February of this year in Islamabad’s Shakarparian district as part of the ten billion tsunami project.
The CDA planted three native cheer saplings, Dodonaea viscosa (Sanatha), and Bauhinia variegata in these woodlands (Kachnar).
In the meantime, a CDA news statement stated that 23 locations in Islamabad will have forests developed, in addition to the 18 locations where they have already been planted.

Shakarparian, Blue Area, F-6, F-7, F-8, F-10, D-12, G-6, G-7, Fatima Jinnah Park, among other locations, have had forests planted.
According to sources, CDA has been emphasizing the city’s green attributes since gaining charge of the wing. A 350-acre, fully-fledged forestry park is also being constructed, and CDA staff members are now planting trees there.
