90% of Housing Societies in KP Declared Illegal Latest Report

The Local Government Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has noted that 90 %of housing societies in the province are illegal or unregistered, leaving only 10 % as registered.

The report declares that over half of the housing societies in KP, precisely 60 %, are illegal, while 30 % are unregistered. This means there are only 80 legal housing societies in the province.

Currently, there are 822 housing societies across KP. The distribution contains 254 in Dera Ismail Khan Division, 247 in Peshawar Division, 77 in Malakand, 74 in Hazara, 73 in Bannu, 67 in Mardan, and just 30 in Kohat Division.

In total, 495 of these Illegal housing societies KP, and 247 are unregistered. The Local Government Department has listed these illegal and unregistered societies on its website. It advises the public to be cautious when investing in housing societies to avoid fraud in KP housing societies.
